What "Verified" means

A provider shows the Verified badge only when Football Reach has checked, for that listing, each of the things below, and recorded what it checked. It cannot be bought, and it runs out.

What we check

  • The business exists. A confirmed evidence review found it exists, or we checked an official record such as Companies House, the Charity Commission or the FA.
  • The person managing the listing runs it. The listing was claimed through a checked route (an email on its own website domain, the address published on it, approval by that address, or a manual check by us), or we checked it another way.
  • Professional registration checked. We looked up the register ourselves (for example the HCPC for a physiotherapist or a dietitian) and recorded the number and the date. This applies to physiotherapists, and to any listing that says it is registered or uses a protected title such as dietitian.
  • What it offers is evidenced. A confirmed evidence review or a source we checked shows it offers the services or facilities it lists. Club information pages are not checked for this.
  • Its contact details work. The claim proved its business email works, or we reached it on a published contact.

How long it lasts

At most a year, and less if something it relied on runs out sooner, such as a dated evidence check. If what it relied on stops being true (for example the listing changes hands), the badge comes off until it is checked again.

What it does not mean

Verified is not a rating, a recommendation or a promise about quality or results. It does not cover safeguarding: that is the separate Safeguarding checked badge. It is separate from paid placement: a Featured listing is not verified because it pays, and a verified provider keeps the badge if it stops paying.
