Football Reach app

Football Reach app privacy notice

This notice explains what the Football Reach app collects, why, who handles it and how long it is kept. It has a full notice for parents, guardians and other account holders, and a shorter notice written for each age group of players. The app shows each player the one for their age.

The Football Reach website has its own privacy notice. Questions: hello@footballreach.com.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

For parents and guardians

The short version

  • Football Reach is a training log for football players, their parents and their coaches. It is free to use.
  • If your child is under 16, you hold the account. Your child never has an email address or password with us.
  • We keep what the app needs to show your child's practice and progress, and nothing more. We do not ask for your child's full name, school, photo or location.
  • There are no ads, no ad tracking, no messages between users and no strangers. Praise is chosen from a fixed list.
  • We never sell your data or your child's data.
  • You can download everything and delete a player or your whole account in the app at any time, for free.
  • Your child can see what you can see about them.

Who we are

Football Reach is run by Apps 365 Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13955007), registered office 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU. We decide how your data is used, so we are the "controller". The app is published by APPS 365 LTD on the App Store and by APPS 365 on Google Play: both are this company.

The person responsible for privacy and safety in the app is Peter Ferguson, Director.

Who this notice is for

This notice is for the adults and older players who use Football Reach in their own right:

  • parents and guardians (18 or over), who hold the account for every player under 16;
  • coaches (18 or over);
  • players aged 16 or over who have their own login;
  • club welfare officers and club secretaries who confirm coaches on footballreach.com/club (no account is needed for this).

Players have their own notices, written for their age, further down this page: 8 to 9, 10 to 12, 13 to 15 and 16 to 17. The app shows your child the one for their age. If you are taking part in the closed test before launch, the beta notice applies too.

The Football Reach website (the free assessment, the 90-day plan bought on the web, the directory and the waitlist) is covered by our website privacy notice. The app and the website share one account and one history, so where a section below says "Football Reach" it means both.

What we collect and why

About you, the account holder

WhatWhyWhere it comes from
Email addressTo sign you in with a code or link, send service emails (sign-in codes, the weekly report if you choose email, purchase and account notices) and, only if you say yes separately, marketing emailsYou, or Apple or Google if you sign in with them
Apple or Google sign-inTo sign you in. We check the sign-in with Apple's or Google's published keys (that it is genuine, meant for our app, not expired and made for this sign-in) and then do not keep it. We keep which provider you used, the provider's id for you and the email address they give us. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email: we accept Apple's relay address. We do not ask for or keep the name Apple can send. We refuse a Google address Google has not confirmed. With Apple we also keep a sign-in token, encrypted, only so that we can tell Apple to end the link when you delete your accountApple or Google
Year of birth and your declaration (for example "I'm 18 or over and I'm the parent or guardian of the players I add"), with its version and timeTo check you are old enough for the account type, and to keep a record that you said soYou
Account typeParent or guardian, coach, or player 16 or overYou
DevicesA random id for each install, the device's platform and app version, its push token (a code from the phone's notification service, through Expo, that lets us reach that device), its time zone (as minutes ahead of or behind UTC, never a place), when it last synced, and whether you have revoked itYour devices
Consents and choicesWhich features you said yes to for each player (squads, sharing, comparisons), how you get the weekly report (push, email, both or neither), and marketing choices, each with its version and date, and any withdrawalYou
Plus and purchasesWhether your family has Plus, where it came from (App Store, Google Play or the website), its dates, and purchase history. We never see card detailsApple, Google (through RevenueCat) or Stripe
Messages to usHelp requests, reports, complaints and our repliesYou
How you use the app (adults only)Six kinds of event: a sign-up step, a player added, the paywall shown, a purchase, a squad created and an invite shared. Each has at most one value from a fixed list (for example which sign-up step, or which plan), the day (never the time), the platform and app version, and a random id the phone makes so an event is never counted twice. Sign-up steps are sent only once your account exists, so a sign-up that was refused or not finished is never measured. We do not record which link, advert or card led you to install the app. You can stop this at any time in the Family tab ("Do not collect usage data")Your device

About each player you add

WhatWhy
Nickname, birth month and year, kit avatarTo make the player's profile, show the right features and drills for their age, and change them on their birthday month. No full name, photo or school
What kit the player has (ball, cones, wall, partner, goal), session length, theme, and whether Archie picks today's sessionTo build today's session
My week: team training days and match dayTo set a fair weekly target and offer quick team logs
Sessions: kind (own practice, team, match, rest, coaching, other), minutes, effort from 1 to 5, one preset "thing I did well", date and timeThe training log
Drills done: which drill, the measure (for example 34 touches or 9.2 seconds), effort, easier or harder versionDrill history and personal bests
Skill checks: the test (30 m sprint, broad jump, countermovement jump, 20 m shuttle), the result and how it was timedProgress against the player's own past
"Seen by" ticks you addTo show which results an adult saw
Streak pauses: the dates and one of three reasons: rest and recovery, holiday, or off seasonSo a pause never costs a streak. "Rest and recovery" covers any rest, for example after an injury or illness; we never store why the player rested
Check-in answers and the four corners scoresThe free assessment, re-run in the app, scored on our server
Goals and the weekly targetTo show the weekly ring
Praise and reactions received and sentThe praise wall and weekly report
Squad memberships, join requests and your approvalsTo run squads safely
A result you claim from footballreach.comSo the player's history starts from it
The weekly report: sessions, minutes, corner balance, new personal bests, praise received and next week's plan, as numbers and fixed codesA calm summary of the week, for the player and for you. There is no report for a week with nothing logged and no praise
From 13, the player's own notification choices (the weekly report, praise, and whether your copy of the report shows detail)So the player decides about their own device. You can see these choices but not change them
A paired device's random id, push token and time zoneTo keep your child's device in sync, and to keep quiet hours in your own time

We work out streaks, totals, levels, badges and bests from the records above. The 90-day plan is built fresh each time it is opened and is not stored on our server; the phone keeps a copy so it works offline.

We do not collect: your child's full name, photo, voice, school, club, address or location; contacts; any injury, illness or other health information; or anything from the camera except the pairing code it scans on the phone. There is no video recording in the app.

About coaches

WhatWhy
Email, year of birth and declaration ("I'm 18 or over and I coach the players I invite")To check you can run a squad
Your club and age groups, and the welfare officer's confirmation (who confirmed, when, for which age group), or the Safeguarding checked listing you manageSo squads open to players under 18 only for checked coaches
Your declaration that you hold an in-date enhanced DBS check, who issued it, and the date you declared itTo show parents what was declared. We never ask for or keep a DBS certificate number
Squads, codes, homework, preset announcements and praise you sendTo run your squads
A record of every coach action (the coach audit log)A permanent record of contact, as The FA's safeguarding guidance asks, so parents and welfare officers can trust what happened

About club welfare officers and club secretaries

We hold the welfare contact a club publishes (for example on its website), with the page it came from and the date we checked it. We send confirmation links only to that published contact, never to an address a coach types. When you use the club page we record who you confirmed or paused and when. You never see a child's data.

Safety records

If someone reports a concern, blocks or mutes someone, or we pause a coach or a squad, we keep a record of it. Concern reports are seen by us first and shared only with the people who need to know (see "Who we share data with").

Our lawful basis

The law says we must have a reason, called a lawful basis, for each use of personal data. These are ours.

What we doPlayer under 13Player 13 to 15Player 16 to 17 with their own login

Coach audit log and concern reportsSafeguarding, a recognised legitimate interest in UK lawThe sameThe same
Crash reportsLegitimate interests, with no personal dataThe sameThe same
Comparisons with other players (off by default)Your consentYour consentThe player's consent

For adults: your account, signing in (including with Apple or Google) and the weekly report email you choose are part of our contract with you; marketing emails need your consent; adult usage events are our legitimate interest in improving the app. The law lets us collect them without asking first because you can object easily: "Do not collect usage data" in the Family tab stops them and deletes what we kept. Payment records are kept because the law requires it.

Each device's push token and time zone are needed to run the service (keeping devices in sync and keeping quiet hours), so they follow the basis of the service the device is used for. Notifications that you or a player can see are only sent when you, or a player of 13 or over for their own device, have turned them on.

Where a player aged 16 or 17 is still on your account (in the first version of the app the parent keeps the account until the player takes it over), we treat them exactly as a 13 to 15 year old until they take it over: the same lawful basis, the same visibility, their consent plus your approval for squads and sharing, your consent for comparisons, no prices on their profile, and the same notification rule. The last column above applies only to a player who has their own login.

You can withdraw any consent at any time in the parent area. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before, and the tracker keeps working without squads or sharing.

How your child's data is shown to others

Squads are closed groups run by a checked coach. Nobody can search for your child, follow them or message them.

  • Your child sees a "your parent can see this" or "your coach can see this" badge next to anything you or the coach can see.
  • Records seen outside your family carry a random id and the date only, never the exact time your child practised.
  • Until a squad has players from at least 3 families, everything the coach sends goes to you only.
  • Every coach announcement and homework is copied to linked parents. For a 16 or 17 year old with no parent linked, it is copied to the club welfare officer, or for a provider's squad to the provider's named safeguarding lead.

Archie's picks (profiling)

Archie builds today's session using simple rules, in this order: squad homework due this week, the priorities in the 90-day plan, the weakest corner from the latest check-in, a corner not trained for 7 days, variety, and the kit and minutes available. The app says why each drill was picked. This counts as "profiling" under the ICO Children's Code. It is on by default because building today's session is the service you asked for. You or your child can turn it off with "Let me choose". Archie's picks never decide what we sell, which provider or kit to show, or what appears on "New this week".

We do not make any decision about you or your child by computer alone that has a legal or similarly significant effect.

Who we share data with

We never sell data and never share it for anyone's advertising. These providers handle data on our instructions only (they are our "processors"):

ProviderWhat they doWhereWhat they get
Expo (Expo Push Service and app updates)Sends notifications, silent "sync now" signals and app fixes to your devicesUnited StatesThe push token and a fixed notification text (for example "This week's report is ready."), never a name
Apple Push Notification serviceDelivers notifications to iPhones and iPadsUnited StatesThe push token and the same fixed text, never a name

Sentry (EU region)Crash reports, only from app versions set up to send themEuropean UnionTechnical details of the crash: the error, app version, device model and operating system. Before a report leaves the phone, nicknames, email addresses, tokens, sign-in links, codes and ids are removed, and so is the device's name. No user, no screenshots, no recording of the screen. Before any app version sends crash reports, IP address storage is turned off in our Sentry project
BunnyDelivers drill videos and sheetsEuropean UnionDownload requests. Access logs off or kept 3 days. No account or child identifier
PostmarkSends our emails (sign-in codes, the weekly report email, notices)United StatesYour email address and the email. The weekly report email shows each player's nickname and your copy of their week; its subject line never names a child
StripeTakes web payments for Plus and the 90-day planUnited States and EuropePayment details you give Stripe. We never see card details
CloudflareProtects and speeds up our website and app connectionGlobal networkConnection details such as IP address
Our hosting providersRun our website, database and app connectionUK and EUEverything stored on our servers

Apple and Google also act on their own account (as separate controllers) when you sign in with them, when you buy through the App Store or Google Play (they take the payment), and when you download the app. Their own privacy notices apply to that. Google sign-in uses Google's Credential Manager on Android and Google's sign-in kit on iPhone. With Sign in with Apple, our server sends Apple a one-time code from the app at sign-in, to get the token we keep for ending the link, and when you delete your account it asks Apple to end the link.

Where a provider handles data in the United States, it is protected by safeguards UK law accepts: the UK-US data bridge where the provider is certified to it, and otherwise the UK international data transfer agreement or addendum in our contract with the provider. Ask us for details.

Safeguarding. If a concern is reported, we decide within 24 hours who else needs to know: the club welfare officer, The FA's safeguarding team, the police or children's services. Nothing is forwarded automatically. A concern is never shown to the parent, the coach or the squad, and the person reported is never told who reported them. If we suspect child abuse material or grooming we report it to CEOP and the police.

We may also share data if the law requires it, for example with the police or a court.

How long we keep data

DataHow long
Logs, measures, praise and check-insWhile the account is open. Deleted 30 days after you delete the player or the account
Accounts with no sign-in or log for 24 monthsWe email a warning, then delete the account 60 days later
A free assessment result you have not claimed30 days, as on the website
Coach audit log3 years after the coach leaves the squad, longer only when tied to a concern
Concern reportsUntil the youngest child involved is 25
ConsentsThe life of the account plus 1 year
Payment records6 years, as tax law requires
Weekly reportsLike the player's other records: while the account is open, deleted 30 days after the player or account is deleted
Adult usage events13 months. Deleted at once if you object in the Family tab, and with your account
A device's push tokenUntil the app stops using it, you sign out or revoke the device, the account or player is deleted, or the notification service tells us the token no longer works
A device's time zoneUpdated each time the app starts; deleted with the device
The sync log (how long syncs took and whether they worked)30 days
The notification queue (which device, what kind, a scrambled form of the push token, never the token)30 days
Records of each weekly report run90 days
Changes the server refused90 days, or sooner when the device is removed
Your Apple sign-in tokenWhile your account is open. When you delete the account we ask Apple to end the link at once; if Apple cannot be reached we try again each day, for up to 30 days, then delete the token
Markers that a record was deleted (no personal data)400 days
Complaints24 months after the complaint is closed
Crash reports at SentryUp to 90 days (Sentry's retention for our plan)

Drill videos and sheets you download stay on your device until you remove the pack. Today's session and squad homework saved automatically are cleared from the device after 7 days. If you revoke a child's device, its data is wiped from that device.

This replaces what our website privacy notice used to say about tracker history being deleted about 6 months after a subscription ends: tracker history now stays for as long as you keep the account.

Our closure promise. If Football Reach ever closes, every family gets 90 days' notice and a full export.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • get a copy of your data and your child's data;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • limit how we use it;
  • object to how we use it, including to the tracker for your child (which we run on legitimate interests) and to adult usage events (the Family tab, then "Do not collect usage data": this deletes the events we kept and stops collection on every phone signed in to your account);
  • take it with you in a file another service can read;
  • withdraw consent at any time;
  • complain to us and to the Information Commission (the ICO).

How to use them

  • Download: Parent area, then Export. Free, at any time. The file includes your players' records and weekly reports and the usage events we kept for your account.
  • Delete: Parent area, then Delete. You can delete one player or the whole family. Deleting removes the player from every device at once; we purge the records 30 days later. Deleting your account signs out its devices and clears their push tokens at once, and if you used Sign in with Apple we ask Apple to end the link. If you have Plus through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there too: the app shows you how. You can also ask on the web.
  • Coaches: deleting your account passes your squads to a co-coach, or closes them and tells the parents.
  • Players 16 and over with their own login can export and delete their own account.
  • Players 13 and over can ask us, from Help, for a copy of their own data or for it to be deleted. We handle it as their right and tell you.
  • Anything else: email hello@footballreach.com. To protect your child we may ask you to confirm the request from the account's email address or in the app.

We reply within one month. If a request is complex we may take up to two more months, and we will tell you why within the first month.

Notifications and emails

  • Every device gets a code. Each device signed in to Football Reach, including your phone and your child's paired device, sends us its push token and its time zone every time the app starts, even before notifications are allowed. The token lets us send a silent "sync now" signal when something changes on another device, so records stay the same everywhere. That signal shows nothing and makes no sound, and goes at most once every 10 minutes to a device.
  • Notifications you can see are off until you turn them on. For a player under 13, nothing that shows ever goes to your child's own device: your phone is told instead. From 13 the player turns on their own, on their own device.
  • One rule for every notification: at most one a day, never between 21:00 and 07:00 (for adults too), for players under 16 (and 16 and 17 year olds on your account) never between 08:30 and 15:30 on weekdays, and never about a streak at risk, a missed day, a reminder to practise or another player.
  • Your own time. We use each device's time zone only to keep these quiet hours, and to make the weekly report on Sunday at 18:00 your time. If a phone has not told us its time zone for more than 7 days (the clocks may have changed), or never has (then we use UK time), we keep the quiet hours an hour either side, so a notification may come late but never early.
  • No names. A notification says only, for example, "This week's report is ready." It never names your child or says anything about their week, because a lock screen can be seen by anyone. You get one notification per phone however many players you have.
  • The weekly report. It is made on Sunday at 18:00 your time. For a player under 13 you get the full report. From 13 (and for 16 and 17 year olds on your account) the player gets their report first (your notification and email come 30 minutes later), and your copy is a summary (sessions, minutes, praise and next week) unless the player chooses to share the detail. There is no report for a week with nothing logged and no praise.
  • How you get it: by push, email or both, as you choose. The email goes only to the account that chose it, as a service email through Postmark. Its subject line never names a child; inside it shows each player's nickname and your copy of their week.
  • Plus. Once Plus is on sale, your copy of the report may carry one line on what Plus adds, from the second week, never if your family already has Plus, and never on your child's device. In the email that line appears only if you agreed to marketing emails, and then the email has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • We send marketing emails only if you say yes separately. Every one has a one-click unsubscribe.

Security

  • Data is encrypted between the app and our servers.
  • Sign-in tokens are stored on the device in its secure storage and on our server only as scrambled (hashed) values. A lost or stolen device can be revoked from the parent area, which wipes it and clears its push token.
  • Apple and Google sign-ins are checked on our server against Apple's and Google's published keys. Your Apple sign-in token is stored encrypted.
  • The notification queue keeps only a scrambled (hashed) form of a push token, never the token itself.
  • Crash reports have personal details removed on the phone before they are sent.
  • Leaving player mode on your phone, and every purchase, share, setting, consent and external link, needs Face ID, a fingerprint, the passcode or your parent PIN.
  • Downloaded drill packs are kept out of iCloud and Google backups.
  • We test every change on a separate test system with made-up players only, never a real child's data.

Children and the ICO Children's Code

Football Reach is built to the ICO Children's Code (the Age Appropriate Design Code). Before any real child's data reaches the app, we complete a data protection impact assessment, which includes an assessment of your child's best interests and of the higher protection children need at each age. You can ask us for a summary.

Players under 16 never see a price, a paywall or an advert. The only links out of the app on a profile under 16 are Childline, CEOP and these privacy notices.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we use your data, or with something in the app, please tell us. In the app go to Help, then Make a complaint, or use footballreach.com/complaints, or email hello@footballreach.com. We acknowledge every complaint straight away with a reference, look into it, keep you informed and tell you the outcome. We aim to reply in full within 30 days. Our complaints procedure is published at footballreach.com/complaints and in the app under Help.

You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. They usually ask you to raise it with us first.

If you need help now

If a child is in danger, call 999. Children can call Childline free on 0800 1111. You can report online sexual abuse or grooming to CEOP at ceop.police.uk. In the app, Report a concern is on every squad screen.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use data, we update this notice and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If a change needs your consent, we ask again. New features such as squad boards, challenges, photos, clips, free text or a new country are reviewed first and ship only in a new version of the app from the stores.

For players aged 8 to 9

Hi, I'm Archie

This part tells you what Football Reach keeps about you, and who can see it.

Your parent or guardian set up Football Reach for you. They can read this with you.

What does the app keep?

The app keeps:

  • your nickname (not your real full name)
  • your birth month and year, so you get the right drills for your age
  • your avatar (your kit picture)
  • the drills you do and how you did
  • your sessions: practice, training, matches and rest days
  • how hard you worked (1 to 5)
  • praise you get from your coach, your parent and your squad

The app does not keep:

  • your photo
  • your voice
  • your school
  • where you live, or where you are

The camera is only used to scan a code that links your device. It does not take pictures.

Why does it keep it?

So you can:

  • see today's session from me, Archie
  • see that you are getting better than you were before
  • keep your weekly streak
  • get praise for your hard work

Who can see it?

  • Your parent or guardian can see everything. You will see a "your parent can see this" sign.
  • Your coach can see if you did your homework, how many minutes you trained this week, and praise you got. You will see a "your coach can see this" sign.
  • Your squad can see your nickname when you finish homework. They never see who has not finished.
  • Nobody else. Nobody can find you, follow you or message you.

What can you send?

You can send 4 reactions to a squad mate when they finish their homework: Great effort, Keep going, Nice skill and Respect. You cannot type messages. Nobody can type messages to you.

Your device's secret code

Your device gets a secret code from the app. We use it to send a quiet "update now" signal, so your drills and praise are up to date. You never see it and it makes no sound.

Nothing pops up on your device. If there is news, your parent's phone can get it. The app knows what time it is where you live, so it never bothers anyone at night.

If the app goes wrong, it sends us a report so we can fix it. Your name is never in it.

What do we never do?

  • We never show you adverts.
  • We never sell your information.
  • We never let strangers see you.
  • We never ask where you are.

Archie picks your session

I pick today's session from your plan, what you have practised and the kit you have. I tell you why I picked each drill. If you want to choose your own drills, ask your parent to help you tap "Let me choose".

If something feels wrong

If anything in the app makes you feel worried, sad or scared:

  • tell your parent or guardian, or another adult you trust
  • tap Report a concern. It is on every squad screen. It comes to us, and a person reads it.
  • you can call Childline free on 0800 1111. They are kind and they listen.
  • if someone online has made you feel unsafe, tap the CEOP button to tell the police
  • if someone is in danger right now, call 999

When you report something, we do not tell the person you reported who told us.

Can I see my information or delete it?

Yes. Ask your parent or guardian. They can download it or delete it in the app. If you want to ask us something yourself, ask your parent to help you email hello@footballreach.com.

When you are older

When you turn 10, I will show you a new page like this one, written for your age.

For players aged 10 to 12

What this part is about

Football Reach is your training log. This part explains what information the app keeps about you, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it.

Your parent or guardian holds your Football Reach account, because you are under 16. They agreed to the things on this page. You can read it together.

Football Reach is run by a company called Apps 365 Ltd. When this page says "we" or "us", it means them.

What the app keeps about you

WhatWhy
Your nickname (not your full name)So your coach and squad know it is you, without using your real name
Your birth month and yearSo you only see drills for your age, and the app changes the right things on your birthday month
Your kit avatarYour picture in the app. It is never a photo
Your drills, sessions, minutes and how hard you workedSo you can see your practice and your progress
Your skill checks, like a 30 m sprintSo you can see if you are getting quicker or stronger than you were before
Your check-ins (the free assessment)So you can see your four corners now and when you started
Praise and reactionsSo you can see who noticed your hard work
The kit you have and your training daysSo Archie can build a session you can actually do
Your weekly report: your sessions, minutes and praise for the week, as numbersSo you can see your week at a glance. If you did nothing that week, there is no report
A code for your device (called a push token) and your device's time zoneSo the app can send your device a silent "sync now" signal, and so things happen at the right time where you live, like your weekly report on Sunday evening

The app never keeps your photo, your voice, your school, where you live or where you are. The camera only scans the code that links your device to your account. Your time zone just tells us what time it is where you are. It is not a place.

Your device's code and notifications

When your device is linked, the app sends us a code for your device each time it opens. We use it to send a silent "sync now" signal when something changes, like new praise or homework, so your device stays up to date. It shows nothing and makes no sound.

While you are under 13, no notifications pop up on your device. If there is news, like your weekly report, your parent's phone can be told instead, never at night.

If the app crashes

If the app crashes, it sends a crash report to a company called Sentry, in Europe, so we can find the problem and fix it. Before the report leaves your device, the app takes out names, email addresses and codes. Your name is never in it.

  • You will see "your parent can see this" and "your coach can see this" next to things they can see.
  • There are no leaderboards. Your progress is compared only with your own past.
  • Nobody can search for you, follow you or send you messages. Nobody outside your squad can see you at all.

Joining a squad

Your coach gives your parent a code. Before you join, you will see a short Staying safe card. It explains who will see what, and what to do if something feels wrong. Then your parent decides whether you join.

In a squad you can send 4 reactions when a squad mate finishes their homework: Great effort, Keep going, Nice skill and Respect. Nobody in the app can type messages to anyone.

Sharing outside the app

Cards like "my weekly effort" can be shared into WhatsApp, but only by your parent. Cards never show your face, surname, club, school or where you live.

Archie's picks

Archie picks today's session using simple rules: your squad homework, your plan, the corner you most need to work on, something you have not trained for a while, some variety, and the kit and time you have. He always says why he picked a drill. This is called "profiling". If you would rather pick your own drills, you or your parent can tap Let me choose.

Things we never do

  • No adverts, ever.
  • We never sell your information or use it to show you things to buy. You will never see a price in the app.
  • No messages, no strangers, no location.
  • Notifications are off unless your parent turns them on, and they go to your parent's phone.
  • We never record what you tap in the app.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your family has a Football Reach account. If your parent deletes your profile, it disappears from every device straight away, and we delete it from our computers 30 days later.

If something feels wrong

If something in the app worries you, upsets you or makes you feel unsafe:

  • tell your parent or guardian, a teacher or another adult you trust
  • tap Report a concern. It is on every squad screen and it comes to us first. A person reads every report, within 24 hours
  • call Childline free on 0800 1111, or visit childline.org.uk. It is free and private
  • if someone online has made you feel unsafe, use the CEOP button to report it to the police
  • if someone is in danger right now, call 999

We never tell the person you reported who reported them.

Your rights

You have rights over your information, even though you are under 13. Your parent usually uses them for you:

  • to see a copy of your information
  • to have something wrong put right
  • to have it deleted

Your parent can download or delete your information in the app at any time. If you want to ask us something yourself, you or your parent can email hello@footballreach.com.

If you or your parent are not happy with how we use your information, tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO), the people who make sure companies look after information properly: ico.org.uk.

When you are older

When you turn 13, the app will show you what changes, and a new page like this one. You will get more choices, like setting your own weekly target and choosing what your parent sees about how hard you worked.

For players aged 13 to 15

The short version

  • Your parent or guardian holds your account until you are 16. You use the app on your own device, linked by a code, with no email or password.
  • From 13 you get more say: you choose some of what your parent sees, you accept squad invites, and you can share your own cards once your parent has said yes to sharing.
  • No adverts, no messages, no strangers, no location. We never sell your information.
  • You can ask us yourself for a copy of your information, or for it to be deleted.

Who we are

Football Reach is run by Apps 365 Ltd, a UK company. We decide how your information is used, which makes us responsible for it. You can reach us at hello@footballreach.com.

What we keep, and why

  • Your profile: your first name or a nickname your parent approved, your birth month and year (so you see the right drills and features for your age), your avatar and your theme.
  • Your training: sessions (own practice, team training, matches, rest days), drills, the measure for each (like touches or seconds), how hard you worked, and the "thing I did well" you picked.
  • Your progress: skill checks, check-ins and your four corners, your goals and weekly target, and "seen by" ticks from your parent.
  • Your squad: which squad you are in, praise and reactions you send and receive, and homework.
  • Your settings: your kit, session length, notifications, theme, and whether Archie picks your session.
  • Your weekly report: your week as numbers (sessions, minutes, corner balance, new personal bests, praise and next week's plan). No report is made for a week with nothing logged and no praise.
  • Your device: a random id, a code for notifications (called a push token) and your device's time zone (just how far ahead of or behind UTC it is, never a place).

We never keep your photo, voice, school, address or location. The camera only scans the code that links your device.

We use this to give you the training log, Archie's daily session, your progress and your squad. We also use the records, without names, to see how well the app works, for example how many sessions people log in a week. We do not track what you tap in the app: we only collect that kind of information from adults.

If the app crashes, it sends a crash report to Sentry (in the EU) so we can fix it. Before it leaves your device, names, email addresses, codes and ids are taken out.

Why we are allowed to use it

The law calls this a "lawful basis".

  • Your training log, drills and plan: our legitimate interests in giving you the service your parent set up. We have written down why this is fair to you.
  • Squads, praise and reactions: your consent, plus your parent's approval.
  • Sharing your cards outside the app: your consent, plus your parent's approval.
  • Safety records (reports, blocks, what coaches do): keeping children safe, which the law recognises as a legitimate interest.
  • Crash reports: our legitimate interests, with no personal information in them.

You can change your mind about squads and sharing at any time. The training log keeps working without them.

  • You see "your parent can see this" and "your coach can see this" next to anything they can see.
  • Your weekly report comes to you first: your parent's notification and email come 30 minutes after yours. Your parent's copy is a summary: how many sessions, how many minutes, praise you received and next week's plan. You choose whether it also shows the detail (which days, which corners you practised, new personal bests).
  • Nobody can search for you, follow you or message you. Squads are closed and joined by code only.
  • Things your squad or coach can see carry the date only, never the exact time you practised.

Squads

You accept a squad invite on your device, and then your parent approves. Before your first squad you see a Staying safe card. A squad is run by a coach who has been checked: either the club's welfare officer confirmed them, or they run a provider listing we have checked for safeguarding.

In a squad you can send reactions and praise from a fixed list, like "Great effort", "Didn't give up" or "Great teammate". Nobody can type messages. Coaches can only send fixed announcements and homework to the whole squad, and every one is copied to your parent.

Sharing

Once your parent has said yes to sharing, you can share your own cards, like weekly effort or a personal best, through your phone's share options. Cards never show your face, surname, club, school or location.

Archie's picks

Archie builds today's session from simple rules: squad homework, your plan, the corner you most need, a corner you have not trained for a week, variety, and your kit and time. He says why he picked each drill. This is a kind of profiling. Tap Let me choose to turn it off at any time.

Notifications

Notifications are off until you turn them on, on your own device. Your parent can see what you chose but cannot change it. When they are on: at most one a day, never between 21:00 and 07:00, never between 08:30 and 15:30 on weekdays, and never about a streak at risk or about other players. A notification never shows your name or anything about your week: it just says "Your weekly report is ready."

To make this work, your device sends us its push token and its time zone each time the app opens, even if notifications are off. The token lets us send the notifications you turn on, and a silent "sync now" signal when something changes, so your device stays up to date. That signal shows nothing and makes no sound. The time zone means quiet hours are in your own time. If your device has not told us its time zone for a week (for example after the clocks change), we keep the quiet hours an hour either side, so a notification can be late but never early.

How long we keep it

While your family keeps the account. If your profile is deleted, it disappears from your devices straight away and from our computers 30 days later. If an account is not used for 24 months, we warn your parent and then delete it 60 days later.

Your rights

Because you are 13 or over, you can use these rights yourself:

  • get a copy of your information
  • correct anything wrong
  • delete your information
  • object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it
  • change your mind about squads and sharing

To ask, go to Help, then Ask for a copy or deletion, or email hello@footballreach.com. We treat it as your request and we tell your parent that you asked. We reply within one month.

If you are not happy with how we use your information, tell us first through Help, then Make a complaint. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO), the UK regulator for personal information, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

If something feels wrong

  • Tap Report a concern. It is on every squad screen. It comes to us first, a person reads it within 24 hours, and it is never shown to your parent, the coach or the squad. The person you report is never told who reported them.
  • Talk to someone you trust: a parent, a teacher, a coach or the club welfare officer.
  • Childline: call 0800 1111 for free, or go to childline.org.uk. It is confidential.
  • CEOP: if someone has made you feel uncomfortable or unsafe online, report it to the police with the CEOP button.
  • If someone is in danger now, call 999.

When you are older

At 16 you will be able to take over your account with your own login. Until then, your parent keeps it. In the first version of the app your parent keeps the account after that too, and the app tells you the date when you can take over. Until you take over, everything on this page still applies to you. When you take over, we ask you again about squads and sharing, and your parent stays linked only if you choose.

For players aged 16 to 17

The short version

  • You can have your own Football Reach login from 16. If your parent set up your profile before then, they keep the account until you take it over.
  • You decide what your parent sees, if they are linked at all.
  • No adverts, no messages, no strangers, no location. We never sell your information.
  • You can download or delete your information yourself.

Who we are

Football Reach is run by Apps 365 Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13955007). We are the "controller" of your information. Contact: hello@footballreach.com.

Two ways you might be using the app

  1. Your own login. You signed up yourself, aged 16 or over, with an email address, Apple or Google. The account is yours. A parent link is optional and you control it.
  2. On your parent's account. Your parent added you before you could have your own login. In the first version of the app, your parent keeps the account and the app tells you the date when you can take it over. When you take over, we ask you again about squads and sharing, and your parent stays linked only if you choose. Until then you are treated exactly like a 13 to 15 year old: the same lawful basis, the same rules on what your parent sees, the same features, your own consent plus your parent's approval for squads and sharing, no prices, and the same notification rule. The notice for 13 to 15 year olds explains those rules, and the app shows it to you as well as this one.

What we keep, and why

  • Your account (own login only): email address, your Apple or Google sign-in id if you use one, your year of birth and the declaration "I'm 16 or over and this account is for me", your devices, and your choices and consents.
  • Signing in with Apple or Google (own login only): we check the sign-in against Apple's or Google's published keys and do not keep it. We keep which provider you used, their id for you and the email address they give us (Apple's "Hide My Email" address works). We do not ask for or keep your name. With Apple we also keep a sign-in token, encrypted, only so that we can tell Apple to end the link if you delete your account.
  • Your profile: first name or nickname, birth month and year, avatar, theme, kit and session length.
  • Your training and progress: sessions, drills and measures, effort, skill checks, check-ins and your four corners, goals, streak pauses (rest and recovery, holiday or off season, with no health reason), "seen by" ticks, and your weekly report (your week as numbers; none for a week with nothing logged and no praise).
  • Your squad: membership, homework, praise and reactions you send and receive.
  • Your devices: a random id for each, a code for notifications (called a push token) and the device's time zone (how far ahead of or behind UTC it is, never a place).
  • Purchases (own login only): if you buy Plus, the fact that you have it, where you bought it and its dates. We never see card details.
  • Messages to us: help requests, reports and complaints.

We never keep your photo, voice, school, address or location, and there is no video recording in the app. We do not collect information about what you tap in the app: we only do that for adults, from 18.

If the app crashes, it sends a crash report to Sentry (in the EU) so we can fix it. Before it leaves your device, names, email addresses, tokens, codes and ids are taken out.

  • Nobody can search for you, follow you or message you.
  • Coaches can send only fixed announcements and homework to the whole squad. If you have no parent linked, a copy goes to the club welfare officer, or for a provider's squad to the provider's named safeguarding lead. This follows The FA's guidance that adults working with 16 and 17 year olds should copy in another responsible adult.
  • A player aged 18 or over can only be in a squad set to 16 and over.

Archie's picks

Archie builds today's session from simple, stated rules, and says why each drill was picked. Tap Let me choose to turn this off. Picks never decide what we sell or show you.

Plus and prices

If you have your own login you can see prices and buy Plus, which covers the whole family. On a parent's account you never see a price: Plus is your parent's choice, in the parent area. Price, renewal and how to cancel are on the payment screen. You can cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings, or in two taps on the web for a web subscription.

Notifications and the weekly report

Off until you turn them on. At most one a day, never between 21:00 and 07:00, and never about a streak at risk or about other players. On a parent's account, also never between 08:30 and 15:30 on weekdays, as for 13 to 15 year olds. A notification never shows your name or anything about your week: it just says "Your weekly report is ready."

Your device sends us its push token and time zone each time the app opens, even if notifications are off. The token lets us send the notifications you turn on and a silent "sync now" signal that shows nothing and makes no sound. The time zone keeps quiet hours in your own time; if it is more than a week old we allow an hour either side, so a notification can be late but never early.

With your own login, the weekly report is yours alone: no parent copy is made. On a parent's account your parent's copy is a summary (sessions, minutes, praise and next week's plan), with the detail only if you choose to share it, and their notification and email come 30 minutes after yours.

Your rights

You can get a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, take it with you, and withdraw consent.

  • Own login: the Family tab, then Export my data or Delete my account. Deleting removes everything from your devices at once and from our computers 30 days later. If you pay for Plus through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there as well.
  • On a parent's account: Help, then Ask for a copy or deletion. We treat it as your request and tell your parent.
  • Or email hello@footballreach.com. We reply within one month.

If you are unhappy, use Help, then Make a complaint, or footballreach.com/complaints. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

When you are an adult

At 18, any parent link ends unless you choose to keep it, and the extra rules for players under 18 stop applying. We will tell you before it happens.

If something feels wrong

  • Report a concern is on every squad screen. It comes to us first and a person reads it within 24 hours. It is never shown to the coach, the squad or your parent, and the person you report is never told who reported them.
  • Childline is free and confidential for young people, you included: call 0800 1111 or go to childline.org.uk.
  • CEOP: report online sexual abuse or grooming to the police at ceop.police.uk.
  • If someone is in danger now, call 999.

For coaches and adult players

Coaches (18 or over) have their own account. We keep your email, year of birth and declaration, your club and age groups with the welfare officer's confirmation (or the Safeguarding checked listing you manage), your DBS declaration (who issued it and the date you declared it, never a certificate number), your squads, and a record of every coach action, because The FA's safeguarding guidance asks for a permanent record of contact with children. The full detail, with every provider we use and how long each thing is kept, is in the notice for parents and account holders, which covers coaches too.

Adult players (18 or over) with their own login: the notice for parents and account holders applies to you in full. Your account is a contract with you, and the adult usage events described there apply to you too, with the same "Do not collect usage data" choice in the Family tab.

If you are unhappy with how we use your data, use footballreach.com/complaints or email hello@footballreach.com. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
